QAYYIMAH AL-ZELZY |
Qayyimah Al-Zelzy graduated from two universities in the United Kingdom in 2013 and later joined the Royal Brunei Navy as a Naval Officer in 2014. She is mostly known for being the first female in Brunei to solo trek the Northern Himalayan mountains in Nepal for almost two weeks in December 2018. In 2019, she began her Seven Summits journey, which entails in climbing the highest mountains of every continent, beginning with Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. Her passion and interests have always been driven by causes close to her heart and grounded in a strong foundation of personal development and introspection.
She is committed to inspire and empower women and youth in general through the field of adventure. When it comes to extreme outdoor sports, she came to find that it's not just a physical challenge. It’s also a matter of battling your own willpower, a case of whether you have the strength to move forward when facing each challenge or succumb to it. With this, she hopes to devote her life to learning from past experiences and from the mountains and share the knowledge with others. She also hopes to become the first female in Brunei to ultimately finish the Seven Summits. |
